Uber Launches in the Rockies

Uber

Watch out Colorado Mountain Express, Uber has come to town. The on-demand, smartphone-driven car service has taken metropolitan markets by storm and it’s launching in Aspen/Snowmass, Summit County (Keystone and Breckenridge) and Eagle County (Vail and Beaver Creek) over the Thanksgiving weekend. The Uber app allows anyone to request a car through it on their phone, computer or via text. Then users can get a fare estimate, track the real-time status of their driver and receive a notification when the car has arrived. The system stores credit card information, so there is no exchange of cash.

In the Rocky Mountains, Uber will only offer SUV service. The website says it will be a $25 minimum, and that they’ll take passengers as far as Denver to Aspen.
