The Gourmet Dad Makes Debut Debut at the Andaz West Hollywood

As the father of four child with one on the way, Dean McDermott knows a thing or two about what a challenge it  can be to make his kids eat what they don’t want to.

That’s why Tori Spelling’s husband launched  The Gourmet Dad, a website devoted to broadening a child’s palette and in a fun and non-threatening way.

It is also meant to be  a site for the someone like Dean: a young family man, a guy’s-guy in Hollywood, a devoted husband, a gourmet dad, a motorcycle enthusiast, an actor, a producer and an adventurist.

He celebrated the site’s launch last night with an intimate dinner at the Andaz West Hollywood, where he and house chef Jorge Chicas created polarizing items using the same ingredients.

He capped the meal with his Rice Crispy Treat Dragon Bombs, giving the meal a fancy flair by preparing the food in front of guests using dried ice.

Check out the chef’s dual menus below:

Watermelon & Tomato Skewers vs. Strawberry Cream Water Tower

Chipotle Aioli Chicken Skewers vs. Icky Sticky Chicken

Hummus & Greek Salad vs. Veggie Hummuspitamus & Gummy Bear Salad

Seared Scottish Salmon vs. California Coast Salmon Surfboards
