Masterpiece London Comes to an End

This past Wednesday while America was celebrating its independence, London was bidding farewell to the third year of Masterpiece London. The event, which is held at the prestigious Royal Hospital Chelsea, is the UK’s foremost art and antiques fair, and collectors wait with baited breath all year long to snap up new pieces for their priceless collections.

Known for its vast range of distinctive design exhibits – from antiquity to present day – the event is known to attract many collectors including the likes of HRH Prince Harry, Sir Elton John, Oprah Winfrey and Tom Ford.

While some came to browse or people watch, others came to dine at Le Caprice or to sip champagne at Scott’s Champagne & Seafood Bar. However, as we all know, with more than 160 exhibitors, the real draw was the art.

Whether it was Clarence Dillon’s fine wines, Duncan Hamilton & Co Limited’s antique cars, Sebastian + Barquet’s 20th Century Design pieces or Vacheron Constantin contemporary watches, there was truly something there for everyone.

If you missed Masterpiece London this year, mark your diary because they will be back next year, and undoubtedly bigger and better.
