Kitchen Table Will Impress Your Next Downtown Date

If there’s one thing the Old Bank District is known for, it’s rows upon rows of commercial buildings. But if your date asks you to dinner in the area, it’s not because he’s delusional—it’s because he’s discovered a hidden rooftop gem worthy of impressing you.

Kitchen Table, a new bi-level restaurant with a rooftop dining room in the Old Bank District, opened on July 2 at Main and 4th. Past the charming blue and yellow doors, and beneath the cherubic angels painted on the ceiling, are a few tables around an intimate space in the indoor dining room reminiscent of Old Europe. But ask for a table outside, and you’ll find the real treasure.

The venue has a split-dining plan, with a ground floor bar with a few dining tables and a canopied rooftop patio upstairs with rustic tables for two or a communal table for larger parties.

The restaurant is a joint project between chef Randall Perez and “Ray,” the man behind the nearby Old Bank District Market. Kitchen Table boasts an al fresco Mediterranean menu featuring tapas style and regular sized entrees like pork belly with white beans, grilled stuffed squid, Alaskan cod, and fried green tomatoes and clams.

For bonus romantic points, Old Hollywood black and white movies are projected on the wall.
