July 4th Haute Bay Area Festivities

Yes, July 4 falls on a Wednesday this year, but there is no shortage of Haute festivities in and around the Bay Area. Whether you choose to stay in San Francisco or venture to a delightful surrounding city, a Haute Independence Day awaits.

Event:  RN74’s Happy Hour

Date and Time:  available Monday – Friday, from 4 – 6 p.m.

Michael Mina’s other hotspot restaurant gives us yet another reason for mid-week celebrations.  With eager San Franciscans ready to celebrate the 4th of July,  RN74 offers the $7.00 happy hour, a perfect way to kick off the July 4 festivities.  Happy hour revelers will have access to some of Chef Jason Berthold’s ingenious culinary creations for seven dollars.

Event:  Maverick’s Independence Day Bacon Burger

Date and Time:  July 4 from 5:30pm -10:00pm

Before you watch the fireworks, stop into Maverick for their infamous Bacon Butter Burger for $13. Typically only offered on Saturdays, Maverick is celebrating its independence for one day only.  Uncle Sam would be proud.

This delightful city north of the Golden Gate is always a treat for the senses.  Stunning views, lush scenery, open marinas, houseboats, café life, artists colony and bohemian roots make this the perfect destination that lies a hop, skip and a jump from San Francisco.

The three-part July 4th begins at 10am with a parade of floats, bands, classic cars, local officials and organizations, starting at Second and Main streets and ending at Dunphy Park. There, a picnic includes entertainment, food, old-fashioned games like tug-of-war and the egg toss, music and dancing. The finale at Gabrielson Park runs from 6:30-9:30 pm, and includes live music and entertainment topped by the city’s fireworks show.

Event:  SF Symphony Concert and 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular

Date and Time:  July 4 at 8:00pm

Always an impressive event, the annual concert and fireworks festivity at Shoreline Amphitheatre is as good as gold.  This year, the San Francisco Symphony celebrates the sporting life!  Enjoy gold medal music and sonic gymnastics, all leading up to a thrilling fireworks show accompanied by the Orchestra.

Event:  Nick’s Cove Vintner Dinner

Date and Time:  July 5 at 7:00pm

If you have the good fortunate to enjoy a long weekend after the July 4 holiday, then Nick’s Cove Restaurant in Tomales Bay is a most serene destination of Marin County.

Nick’s Cove Restaurant, Oyster Bar & Cottages is a rustic farm-to-table culinary destination overlooking the pristine coastline of Tomales Bay.  On Thursday, July 5, they host the intimate Vintner Dinner, a partnership with local vintners to showcase their favorite varietals and vintages. The July 5 dinner will feature Thumbprint Cellars and Winemaker Scott Lindstrom-Dake.
