GLIDE, the San Francisco philanthropic organization dedicated to empowerment, recovery and personal transformation, has touched tens of thousands of lives since its inception in 1929.
On July 28, 2012, Glide presents the 3rd annual GLIDE Legacy Gala-A Love Supreme. The black-tie affair is an evening of music, dance and celebration that recognizes the important work of the city’s philanthropists who are dedicated to improving the lives of others.
Jennifer Siebel Newsom offered a gracious thank you. “A special thank you to GLIDE for the generous Janice Mirikitani Award. I am honored to share their vision for a just and equitable world for our next generation of community leaders. Together we can transform our communities for the betterment of all.”
“I am thrilled to be honored by GLIDE for my achievements and talents to help young people around the world overcome obstacles in order to reach their full potential,” said Vernon Davis.
The GLIDE Legacy Gala raises funds for programs of the GLIDE Foundation so it can continue to provide innovative and comprehensive services to the poor and marginalized in the San Francisco community.
The fundraising momentum started one month ago when GLIDE received a generous donation from the 13th annual eBay auction for lunch with Warren Buffet. The lunch sold sold for a staggering $3,456,789, and 100% of the proceeds goes to GLIDE. eBay and Restaurant Lulu hosted a party for GLIDE supporters to cheer on the final moments of the auction.
