This fall a new bar will be opening in Costa Mesa, but not just any bar, a half ice bar, with stools and chairs completely made of….Yeah, you guessed it, ice. Vice Bar is currently under construction, with special plans to add on to the icy atmosphere. The owner of Vice Bar, Salma Agha is in works to add digital designs to the lounge table and bar, with the use of gadgets that will allow guests to enjoy sipping ice cold drinks in cups made of ice, but that’s not all, the digital designs will conveniently follow your drink on the tabletop made of ice.

Guests 21 and over will have to pay a flat fee for 30 minutes to visit the ice bar. This half hour includes one drink, along with a pair of boots, a hooded fur coat and gloves to accommodate the bar’s below freezing temperatures. However, if patrons can’t handle the freezing climate they have the option of enjoying a much warmer climate at the adjacent lounge that will focus on the older crowd. According to the owner, “There is no place to go out, and everywhere is occupied by 21 to 25-year-olds.”

The ice bar concept seems to be the rage for all over the world, but this is rare for Orange County. In the United States, there are few similar locations in Orlando, Fla. and Las Vegas, Nev., let’s not forget other locations like Graziano’s Vodika Lounge in Petaluma, CA and the outdoor ice bar called The Ice Bar in Olympic Valley. So if you’re in the mood for an icy experience, Vice Bar can be found at the former space that once occupied Avo’s Bistro at 580 Anton Blvd., Costa Mesa, 92626.
