Red Medicine is the haute choice for late-night Asian fare. Instead of heading to an obscure hole-in-the-wall in Koreatown, opt for the chicer zip code of 90211. Yes, that would be Beverly Hills. Chef Jordan Kahn, whose dishes have been likened to Salvador Dali paintings and who himself has been called a culinary Jackson Pollack by The New York Times, has concocted an eccentric, delectable menu. His upscale Vietnamese-inspired fare consists of Congees with a kick, tamarind-glazed lamb and amberjack red seaweed with buttermilk and tapioca (yes, you read that right).  Best of all, this hot spot is open from 6pm until 2am nightly.

Pacific Dining Car is a dying breed in the trendy Los Angeles food industry in that it has withstood the test of time.  Fred and Grace Cook opened their fine dining establishment in 1921 and have managed to keep the family legacy alive with four ensuing generations of ownership. The flagship location in Santa Monica (there’s another downtown) is open 24 hours a day, serving every meal from breakfast to a late night menu. Pacific Dining Car is best known, however, for its meat. The U.S.D.A. Prime American Corn-Fed Beef is aged on premises to enhance its favor and tenderness. Try the Rib Eye; it’s to-die for.

Did someone say Animal, and, if so, did they mean the party variety? This West Hollywood hotspot is often named as one of the best overall restaurants in Los Angeles, and both its food and hours are reason to celebrate. On weekend evenings the trendy venue is open until 1am, while operating until the very accommodating weeknight hour of 11pm. Owners Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo have created a moveable feast in the form of a bacon-heavy menu including everything from pig’s belly to pig’s tails. Just a warning: you might find yourself pigging out given that you have far past the witching hour to do so.

Much like a show with a very familiar name, Café Entourage embodies the glitz and glamour that is Hollywood.  It’s dark, sexy and dimly lit inside, with an outdoor patio that rivals the trendiest of Hollywood nightclubs. This fashionable spot, which bathes its patrons in mod purple LED light, has a menu as divine as its crowd. With diverse dishes like macaroni and cheese with truffles and Argentinean Filet Mignon with raspberry cilantro chimichurri, it is gourmet comfort food at its finest. It’s rare to find a late-night spot as hot as this one: you can dance, drink and stuff yourself silly until 4am on the weekends.

Bottega Louie has practically become synonymous with fine dining in downtown Los Angeles. Its night-owl friendly hours make this spot as much of a must as its Italian delicacies do. Whether you opt for savory fare like a single ravioli with a poached egg inside or sweet treats like chocolate souffle, you'll leave - and leave late, at that. Bottega is open until midnight on the weekends and 11pm every other night of the week. Buon appetito indeed.
