Gracias Madre is a vegan Mexican restaurant with fantastic food and reasonable prices. The ambiance is lively and easy-going, with $5.00 Margaritas and Sangrias, $8.00 vegan enchiladas, $8.00 eggplant gratin.  It's affordable, it's vegan and it's delicious.

Source is a relative newcomer to the San Francisco vegetarian scene, but vegetarians (and omnivores alike) are certainly happy about their arrival.  Somewhat off the beaten-path in the new residential area of SOMA, Source is one of the most creative vegetarian restaurants in the city.
