Haute Event: Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards Honors Hollywood’s Leading Ladies

Last night’s Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards brought out some of Hollywood’s most iconic actresses, as the annual ceremony gathered the film industry’s finest to salute achievements made by fabulous femmes in the entertainment industry.

Hosted by Golden Globe Award-winning actress Jenna Elfman, the “Power in Numbers”-themed event was held at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. and included legendary actresses such as Meryl Streep and Viola Davis.

Academy Award-winner Streep celebrated her Doubt co-star Viola Davis as she presented her the night’s top honor for Excellence in Film. Davis, 46, was nominated for an Oscar this year for her leading role in “The Help,” in which Streep called her a “lion-hearted woman” and “gifted and determined actress.”

Other leading ladies taking home awards from the Max Mara, Swarovski and Kodak-sponsored event include Christina Applegate, who was presented The Norma Zarky Humanitarian Award by former Married with Children co-star Ed O’Neill; 500 Days of Summer’s Chloe Moretz, who was named the 2012 MaxMara “Face of the Future” by Nicola Maramotti of MaxMara; and cinematographer Annette Haellmigk, who was presented The Kodak Vision Award by actor Bill Paxton.

The night before, the organization held a cocktail party for Moretz at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood, Calif. to celebrate her award. Nina Dobrev, Jennifer Morrison, Olivia Munn, Maggie Grace and Rachael Leigh Cook were among those in attendance.

Founded in 1973, Women In Film is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping women achieve their highest potential within the global entertainment, communication and media industries. The foundation provides its members with an extensive network of contacts, educational programs, scholarships, and access to employment opportunities.
