Haute Event: Blake Lively, John Travola Attend ‘Savages’ Premiere

Savages, the druggy crime thriller directed by Oliver Stone, had its New York premiere at Chelsea’s SVA Theater last night. Cast members Blake Lively and John Travolta walked the red carpet, with Lively wearing couture Gucci. The actress, who just became the face of Gucci’s women’s fragrance, has a lot riding on the film since next season will be her last on the primetime soap opera Gossip Girl. Travolta, currently involved in several lawsuits by male massage therapists claiming he sexually harassed them,  would also benefit from the movie’s success.

Based on Don Winslow’s novel about Laguna Beach weed growers who confront a Mexican drug cartel after one of their girlfriends (played by Lively) is kidnapped, Savages opens July 6.
