It’s not as white hot as it used to be, but celebrity haunt the Waverly Inn did catch fire yesterday evening. No one was hurt in the flames that broke out at Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter’s clubby Village restaurant around 5:30 p.m. But one of the Waverly’s famed Edward Sorel murals depicting literary greats Truman Capote and Walt Whitman was irreparably damaged.
