Dori’s World: Let the Games Begin In London

The Olympics don’t arrive for another month, but it’s hard to imagine how London could get any more bustling. Highlights of my first few days in town included a dinner at Belgraves, the new hotel from Jason Pomeranc of the Thompson Hotel and Do Not Disturb Restaurant groups, sushi at Nobu London and Nobu Berkeley ST with Divia Lalvani and her husband Joel Cadbury, and the Jax Coco Coconut Water launch party at Harvey Nichols. There was also a dinner in honor of art auctioneer and collector Simon de Pury and nightclub impresario Johnny Gold’s 80th birthday party. I caught up with my friends Lisa Reuben, Henry Gabay, Jon Theo and Marina Livanos and soaked up the Wimbledon madness, wondering how the sporting craze will become even madder once the 2012 Games arrive.
