Changes Afoot At Bridgehampton Polo This Summer

The Bridgehampton Polo Club will again host a series of weekend challenges at Two Trees Farm this summer, but spectators can expect a few changes from previous seasons, including a renewed emphasis on, well, polo. When BPC head honchos Peter Brant and Neil Hirsch went their separate ways last year, the rumor mill went to work saying that Brant, now the sole man in charge, would work to shift the focus of the event away from the champagne-soaked party tents (often packed to the gills with Real Housewives and the camera crews who follow them) and back to equestrianism.

It appears gossips were on target. According to the event, this year’s six challenges (taking place on Saturdays from July 21 to August 25) will center more “on the polo match than on the surrounding festivities.” Accordingly the reception tent will be downsized, with “a selection of classy shops” filling in leftover space. Even VIPs “will be encouraged…to watch the match.”
