Brooke Shields Celebrates the American Cancer Society’s ‘More Birthdays’ Campaign

Given that she had her own cancer scare back in 2009, Brooke Shields was a natural choice to attend a dinner in honor of the American Cancer Society’s ‘More Birthdays’ campaign.

The former model and her co-stars in the independent film Hot Flashes joined ACS CEO David F. Veneziano at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills Tuesday night for an intimate ‘Blow Out Cancer’ dinner.

Shields, along with Virgina Madsen, Camryn Manheim and Wanda Sykes, celebrated the new campaign, which seeks to “create a world with less cancer and more birthdays” by saving lives, helping people get well, stay well and finding cures.

Their film, which is currently in post-production, follows an unlikely basketball team of unappreciated middle-aged Texas
women who challenge the current high school girls’ state champs to raise money for breast cancer prevention.
