The pairing of a flip-flop and a haute fashion house is a collaboration that could cause you to say “That’s so LA!”
Missoni has partnered with Havaianas for the second year in a row to create a collection of limited-edition sandals which provide a perfect mix of Italian sensibility and Brazilian flair.
All four styles – Unisex (Adult and Kids), Women, Slim (Adult and Kids) and Slim Pins – are eco-friendly, using leftover rubber pieces from the manufacturing process. Additionally, the packaging is made of recyclable material.
Designer Angela Missoni explains: “For Missoni the relationship with nature has always been a priority. We live and work in touch with the landscape, its seasons and all the time changing colors have been always an inspiration. At the same time, Havaianas is firmly concerned about reducing waste, re-using and recycling of materials. This collaboration matches perfectly both of our passions: fashion and respect for nature.”
The beach footwear will certainly be snapped up by those with a haute sense of fashion flair, like Ashlee Simpson and DJ Harley Viera-Newton. Both ladies were on hand to celebrate the new Missoni ♥ Havaianas collection at trendy LA boutique Kitson last night.
The Missoni ♥ Havaianas collection will be available at Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, all Missoni shops, and www.us.havaianas.com later this month. The Rodeo Drive shop sadly shut its doors on Thursday.
