Officially Introducing the Brooklyn Nets

Introducing the Brooklyn Nets, officially.

The team unveiled new colors and logos in its new hometown of Brooklyn yesterday, across the street from its nearly finished billion-dollar home arena, Barclays Center. The team’s formal attire will be black and white. The straight-to-the-point logo was designed by Brooklyn Nets co-owner, hip-hop legend and Haute Living’s very own Haute 100 lister, Jay-Z.

It has been 10 years since the man behind the team’s relocation, Bruce Ratner, began discussing the idea with Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz. Before the official debut of the Brooklyn Nets, there existed the New Jersey Nets. In 2009, Russian billionaire and Haute 100 lister Mikhail Prokhorov bought the New Jersey Nets knowing that Brooklyn was in the team’s future.

And now that the Brooklyn Nets are born at last, we predict lots of success in its future, too.
