If you’re looking for a place to enjoy Italian dishes in an upscale environment, look no further than Enoteca Drago. It’s the perfect spot to lounge, chat with a friend, and people watch. In addition, the Beverly Hills eatery has had a new menu in full force since the beginning of May. With Garret Mukogawa at the helm as the Chef de Cuisine a little over a month, the menu has a contemporary take on a unique mix of regional Italian cuisine.

Mukogawa, a graduate of the California School of Culinary Arts Le Cordon Bleu program, has worked in top restaurants on the West Coast. He brings new flavors to Enoteca Drago with his background in Asian and French cuisine. There are plates that both vegetarians and meat-lovers will enjoy.

Here are a few of the dishes we were able to sample:

Bomba: It looks like a calzone, but it’s not quite that. The Bomb is filled with mozzarella, caramelized onion, and black truffles. It’s a bit rich, but well worth it as your taste buds will be bursting with flavor after the first bite. Make sure to order this dish–other diners will be envious of your selection.

Gamberino: A little lighter in flavor, this salad is a good contrast to the rich Bomba. It features Black Tiger Shrimp, Quinoa, and Jicama. The dish is full of color and designed artfully on the plate.

Budino: Sweet in taste and creamy in texture, the budino is the perfect way to end your meal. It comes in a small glass cup and packs a wallop of butterscotch flavor. Break the caramelized crisp, swirl it in the Italian pudding, and enjoy.
