LA Bloom Festival Celebrates Seasons and Japanese Culture

The LA Bloom Festival is celebrating the centennial year when cherry trees were gifted to the United States from Japan with community activities, performances and contemporary art.

The nine-day festival kicked off on April 27 in front of the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center.  JACCC Artistic Director, Hirokazu and Co-Curator, Calvin Abe transformed the stretch into one of the worlds largest Zen Gardens with over 5 million pebbles.  The eco-art-space resonates the theme of the whole festival: renewal and spring.
