Haute Fashion Daily: Harry Winston Diamond Earrings May Bring In Close to $4 Million

On May 16th, Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues will showcase Christie’s Geneva Magnificent Jewels Auction and what better way to kick off a jewels auction than with a flawless diamond set of pear-shaped diamond earrings by Harry Winston. These beauties are said to possibly fetch $3.2 million and $3.9 million, with D/VVS2, 16.21 and 15.67 carats these will be the top lot.

But that’s not all, the auction house in Geneva can very well bring in more than #50 million with more than 340 lots that features jewelry that belongs Maria Felix, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, not to mention a diamond tiara from the wedding of Count Carlo Raggio and Marchioness Tea Spinola in 1901, and a collection of Cartier cats making this auction a very upscale and lucrative event.

In 1975, Richard Burton offered Elizabeth Taylor a 12.6 carat brown-orange diamond ring estimated at $600,000-$800,000 but the starlet refused in efforts to build a hospital in Botswana. Well the very ring is estimated to bring in a very hefty amount, along with a Kashmir sapphire ring estimated at $2.5 million to $3 million.

The diamond tiara made by one of the most famous Italian Jewelers of all time, Filippo Chiappe is said to estimate $320,000 to $530,000 and the collection of cats by Cartier will estimate $290,000 to $380,000, which is perfect for the legendary “Big Cat” series made of onyx, emerald and yellow diamonds.
