The Chicago Symphony Orchestra Heads to Russia

Led by world-renowned conductor and music director Riccardo Muti, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra will be playing two concerts in Moscow and St. Petersburg on April 18 and 19.
Hailed as one of today’s leading orchestras, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1891 and has conducted 36 international tours since 1971. The upcoming Moscow and St. Petersburg will serve as the highlights of American Seasons in Russia. The program will include musical works by Dmitry Shostakovich.
This will mark the second time that the Chicago Symphony Orchestra has played in Moscow, the previous time being back in November 1990. In total, the orchestra gives approximately 150 concerts per year.
