Roz Jacobs Finds The Perfect Balance Between Technology and Art

Utilizing iPads, canvases and paper, Roz Jacobs is an artist of the 21st century.  Technology meets the brush or in some cases the finger in Jacobs’ works which span from New York cityscapes to New Orleans jazz musicians.

Jacobs’ work will be on display at the Synchronicity Space Fine Arts from April 25 through June 2. The exhibit, “Paintings & Process,” features canvases and video loops that show the brushstrokes and the steps it took to create a work of art on an iPad.

This is what makes Jacobs’ work innovative and distinctively now.  Through the iPad, viewers can see the intimate process in which an artist takes to create a piece.  For the most part, viewers only see the finished project. Jacobs takes us from beginning to end.

The multi-talented Jacobs will be busy this April.  Her award-winning documentary, “Finding Kalman,” will be broadcast on public television and her book, which she co-authored with her mother, “Finding Kalman-A Boy in Six Million,” is coming out this spring.
