Oscar’s Vine Society Opens its New Provençal Doors

A cozy Provençal style bistro, Oscar’s Vine Society has lone been one of Dubai’s favourite spots for a glass of wine amidst attractive and laid back surroundings. Located at Crowne Plaza, the venue has officially reopened its doors with a refurbished interior and new menu. Still offering Oscar’s favourites, the new menu provides a range of authentic home style French dishes that have been designed to share with friends and family.

The bistro boasts an extensive selection of 120 different wines with 10 served by the glass as well as  a wide selection of bistro bites and traditional homemade specialties. The new menu features enticing Provençal creations such as Tian de legume aux herbes – Vegetables with herbs; Poisson du jour grillé au fenouil et tian de légumes – Fish of the day with fennel and vegetables; Saute de crevette a la Provençal – Provençal shrimp; Tartines provençales aux olives, poivron, tomate et courgette –  Provençal bread with olives, peppers, tomatoes and zucchini and Tarte au citron – Lemon tart. A delicious range of specialty dishes evoking the tastes of Provence.

“We want to create an atmosphere that encourages people to enjoy good food in a welcoming and lively atmosphere. The Provençal style of sharing works perfectly for Oscar’s as the venue is cosy and intimate so ideal for ordering a selection of dishes and enjoying them together,” said Crown Plaza Dubai Executive Chef Emmanuel Pauliat.“We source all of our key ingredients directly from France to keep the dishes as close to what you would find there. In addition, our own French baker makes bread daily to give people a true taste of the region’s cuisine.”

Southeastern French cuisine is famed for dishes such as bouillabaisse, a rich seafood from Marseille, and Oscar’s will be serving its own version with a homemade rouille made from potato, garlic, olive oil and saffron. Other dishes to be served include Pissaladière from Nice, which resembles a pizza but is made without a tomato base and is instead topped with caramelised onions , black olives and anchovy fillets. Chef Emmanuel will change the menu according to season and dishes will be created based on the daily catch from local fisherman as well as a selection of seasonally available goats cheeses, olive oils and meat. Oscar’s new menu appears to be a true culinary journey into the heart of Provence – one which will entice and satisfy.
