Haute Event: Cage the Elephant Rocks the House at the Boulevard Pool

On Thursday night, Cage the Elephant rocked a high-energy performance as part of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas’ summer concert series at the resort’s Boulevard Pool. Hailed as the Best New Artist of 2011 by Rolling Stone’s Readers Poll, Cage the Elephant is comprised of Matt Shultz (vocals), Brad Shultz (guitar), Daniel Tichenor (bass/vocals), Lincoln Parish (guitar) and Jared Champion (drums).

The Kentucky-born group began their career with a two-year stint in England for the release of their self-titled debut album. Now back in the U.S., Cage the Elephant has made a name for themselves over the sound waves with their second record, Thank You, Happy Birthday.  The critically acclaimed band launched into their show with the upbeat “2024.”

The audience sung along passionately to widely known hits including “Back Against the Wall,”  “Shake Me Down” and “In One Ear.”  Wrapping up the set, Cage the Elephant played an electrifying rendition of “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked,” which reverberated through the crowd as they took in the remaining minutes at the elevated Strip-side venue.

Next up at the summer concert series at the Boulevard Pool is Snow Patrol on Saturday, May 12, and Young the Giant on Saturday, May 26.
