Event Recap: Body & Soul Grand Opening Celebration

Since meeting with my dear friends and Body & Soul owners Alex and Carolina Pirez for Haute Living’s One on One feature appearing in our newest Haute 100 Miami issue, the couple celebrated the grand opening of their all-in-one fitness facility with a well-attended party that drew in some 500 guests.

Co-sponsored by Haute Living, attendees including music mogul Pharrell Williams and Yankee Jorge Posada mingled to beats curated by DJ Ross One while sipping cocktails by Voli Light Vodka and Qream, a sweet vodka-based spirit designed by Pharrell for, as he puts it, “the modern day queen.”

Bites crafted by both Dome Restaurant and Caviar Bar and SmartBites, a customized health-conscious meal service, provided guests with savory and guilt-free snacks; a detail that seemed perfectly fitting for the occasion. The celebration also included a fire performance followed by an all-out flash mob dance-a-thon orchestrated by gym instructor Jay Marcos. Marcos has become something of a local celebrity with his wildly popular Videosync dance classes; so much so, that his classes have been known to attract some one hundred participants at a time.
