The YMCA of San Francisco launched its inaugural “Y for Youth Luncheon” with flying colors.

Corporate America, civic leaders, government policymakers, in-school educators and philanthropic organizations were among 400 guests that attended the luncheon addressing children’s developmental needs during out of school hours.

Distinguished guests enjoyed the lively program in the Giants Club House including Mayor Ed Lee, current and past 49ers Larry Grant, Jesse Sapulo and Guy McIntyre, emcee and host of 98.1 KISS FM’s “Morning’s with Renel” Renel Brooks-Moon and keynote speaker, Bill Neukom, Chairman Emeritus of the San Francisco Giants.

Both Ed Lee and Bill Neukom shared personal experiences of the Y’s impact on youth. In between the live accounts, flat-screen televisions played recorded testimonials of children whose lives were transformed by the positive impact of the Y.  The San Francisco 49ers Foundation also showed their longstanding commitment to the Bayview Hunters Point YMCA with a check for over $75,000.
