A.J. Black Opens IL Tesoro in New York

Renowned chef and restaurateur A.J. Black of the IL Tesoro restaurant group has opening yet another landmark destination, IL Tesoro in New York’s Upper East Side.

The restaurant serves classic Italian dishes and ingredients with an innovative, modern twist; like the Capellini all’ Astice with 1lb lobster in white wine, leon, garlic and olive oil toopped with organic diced cherry tomatoes. Also on the menu is the house signature pasta – the Paglia Fieno Trevisano with a combination of white and green capellini in a lush truffle cream sauce with mushrooms, sweat peas, proscuitto and cheese baked on top.

Also to look out for are new additions of antipasti, like the Sardines alla Grigilia – fresh marinated sardines and asparagus with chili oil. Finish your delectable experience with an Italian specialty dessert, including Chef Black’s variation of the Limoncello Tiramisu. IL Tesoro also offers an extensive list of wine selections.

Chef A.J. Black grew up in a family of restaurateurs. He attended the Italian Culinary Institue and has trained under Paul Bocuse at Le Cordon Bleu. As part of his restaurant group, Black also owns IL Tesoro Bistro, Dolce Tesoro in Florida’s Sanibel Island and IL Tesoro at the Terrace in Martha’s Vineyard.
