Panerai Supports Sailing Heals During Miami Sailing Week

Miami Sailing Week is an annual international sailing event, which recently took place on March 4th through the 10th. This year, the organizers of Miami Sailing Week and their founding sponsor Bacardi, invited the Massachusetts-based non-profit organization Sailing Heals to be the featured charity for the 2012 festivities. The objective of this event was to invite patients and caretakers from local hospitals out on sailing vessels to enjoy the Miami Sailing Week races first hand. Sailing Heals collaborated with North Shore Medical Center and with the Good Samaritan Medical Center to invite the hospitals’ “Patient Navigators” to handpick patients who would benefit from a tranquil day on the water.

Sailing Heals’ Executive Director Trisha Boisvert showed her gratitude to the members of the Coconut Grove Sailing Club, whom generously donated their time and sailboats for the charitable cause. “For our first VIP sails outside of Massachusetts, we feel very welcome and at home here in Miami, and we look forward to taking patients and their families and caretakers out on the water for a fun, healing day,” said Boisvert.

Premiere watch company Panerai also supported the effort by hosting several patients and VIPs in a classic 1948 Sparkman & Stevens sailboat, named Janley. Those aboard Janley enjoyed the placid waters in Panerai style as Captain Alejandro Prato navigated the ride.
