The jewels of the mystery heiress Huguette Clark, daughter of former Montana Senator William Andrews Clark, are being auctioned at Christie’s New York on April 17. Clark died in 2011 in an unmarked room in Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan. She was 104 and would have turned 105 just two weeks after.
Clark’s precious jewelry is expected to make between $9 million and $12 million. Amongst the pieces being sold are signed Art Deco jewels by Cartier, French jeweler Dreicer & Co. and Tiffany & Co. This includes a fabulous 20-carat D-color diamond ring, a potentially flawless, rectangular-cut 19.86-carat diamond ring by Cartier, estimated to sell for around $3 million and a 9-carat diamond mounted in a Belle Époque setting by Dreicer & Co., expected to sell between $6 million and $8 million. The diamond is said to have fist belonged to Clark’s mother, and then passed down to Huguette Clark.
Clark also owned a trio of Fifth Avenue apartments that were recently listed in the real estate market for a combined total of $55 million.
