Ila Ku Nye Tibetan Ritual at Balance Wellbeing 360

Tucked away within the bustling ambiance of the Oasis Centre, is a sanctuary dedicated to healing the mind, body and soul. This becomes apparent as soon as one enters Balance Wellness 360 through the soothing sound of music; dark wood furnishings evoking a faraway home in India or South America and the friendly staff. Comprising 2,000 square meters and offering 68 treatments, the centre focuses on holistic and ayurvedic healing as well as offers yoga and Pilates classes and also an on-site doctor who can diagnose patients with an ancient-pulse reading method. I am there to try the Centre’s iconic 150-minute Ila Ku Nye Tibetan Ritual, a bespoke experience I am told, which will restore beauty, harmony and inner stillness through the balancing of the five elements.

Upon arrival I am greeted by the Centre’s Manager, Sabrina Martorana, who thoroughly explains what I can expect from the ritual. She tells me that it works to rejuvenate the skin in order to instill within the client feelings of calm, peace and equilibrium. The process claims to awaken the meridian energy lines and chakras in the body in order to regain a sense of beauty and harmony.

In anticipation and curiosity I am led away to the changing room by one of the Centre’s therapist. She then escorts me into my treatment room which comprises wonderful detail to fit the experience such as the potpourri placed under the bed and the soothing sounds of Far Eastern chant.  The therapist begins by washing my feet in preparation for the ritual.  She then massages my body with five blends of wild grown organic oils used to balance the earth, water, fire, air and ether elements within the body. In order to awaken the meridians, a head and body massage follows and incorporates Tibetan techniques of cupping, kneading, lymphatic drainage and acupressure massage with hot stones and Himalayan herb poultices to help restore positive energy and lastly, I am given a restorative Tibetan facial comprising numerous masks and gentle scrubs.

I come away feeling refreshed, balanced and calm. My skin feels smooth and silky and glows with a new radiance for several days after.  The Ila Ku Nye Tibetan Ritual is hard to match in value and experience. At 500 AED for a 150 minutes of bliss and pampering, this ritual beats most you can have. A physical and mental escape in its own right, this ritual is worth it for your health, body and mind.
