The stage production created by Michael Tilson Thomas celebrates the lives of his grandparents, Boris and Bessie Thomashefsky, pioneers of the Yiddish theater. Renowned broadway performers Judy Blazer and Shuler Hensley take the starring roles of Boris and Bessie. The Thomashefskys: Music and Memories of a Life in the Yiddish Theater airs nationally on PBS next week.
