Zuma Dubai Wins ‘Restaurant of the Year’ for the Consecutive Year in a Row

On 21 February, Zuma Dubai demonstrated its continued leadership in the Middle Eastern F&B marketplace when it took home the two top prizes at the annual BBC Good Food Awards Middle East 2011.
The successful Japanese restaurant and bar concept, which is part of the renowned global ZUMA brand, beat off stiff competition to win Restaurant of the Year for the second year running. The award was followed by additional recognition for the brand when Executive Head Chef Reif Othman was proudly named Chef of the Year in a new category. “We are thrilled to have won the top two awards last night. Winning The Restaurant of the Year, for the second year in a row goes to prove our commitment to excellence and the strength of the ZUMA brand. We are also exceptionally proud of Reif for bringing home the coveted Chef of The Year award. His devotion and work ethos is inspirational,” said Zuma’s Director of Operations, Ajaz Sheikh.
The Awards took place at the Ritz Carlton during a Mardi Gras evening of fun, naming the best restaurants, chefs and food brands in the region. Award categories spanned all aspects of the food and beverage spectrum, including Best European, Best New Restaurant, and the most coveted awards of the evening, Restaurant and Chef of the Year. Nominations for each category were based on over 2,000 individual votes in conjunction with the verdict of an independent panel of judges who dined at each of the restaurants anonymously and awarded votes based on specific
criteria of service, quality, ambience and attention to detail.
