Yellow Diamond Part Of $20 Million Heist Resurfaces In Hong Kong Shop

A $1.5 million yellow diamond that was stolen in 2007 from Graff Diamonds in London has resurfaced in a Hong Kong pawn shop, according to the Daily Mail.

The pawn shop reportedly paid $380,000 for the 16.64-carat diamond. It’s being held at the Gemological Institute of America in New York, which verified that is it the real diamond and that it’s been recut since the theft.

Graff has filed suit against the pawn shop in Manhattan court to get the diamond back. It was stolen in a $20 million heist. The two stylist men who stole the ring arrived in a chauffeur-driven Bentley Continental—one wearing a panama hat and the other a beige suit.

The robbers have never been caught, and the yellow diamond is the first of their raided bounty to turn up.
