The Very English Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar to Open in March

Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar, debuting at the end of March 2012 in the 5-star London Marriott County Hall hotel, will be the most English-styled and present the most English-inspired cuisine a place can offer. The restaurant is named after James Gillray, a famous eighteenth century caricaturist. His work will be exhibited on the walls of the bar and restaurant, as well as be featured on the menu.

The restaurant will be set in the 100-year-old County Hall, built for London’s government, and will view the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. The sophisticated design at this 110-cover steakhouse will be by designers Blacksheep.

The menu and bar at Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar will be, of course, heavily influenced by the English. The menu features nine cuts of steak including the signature dish, a 1000g ‘Bulls Head’ steak (a 1000g butterfly cut and a double rib steak with bone in), a 600g T-Bone steak. The historically-ordered bar menu, starting from the Georgian era with cocktails such as Very Slippy Weather, will host 20 English beers, 29 of the finest English gins and five English vodkas. The talented head bartender, Carlos Santos, will offer a selection of impressive cocktails. The snack menu at the bar will have a variety of English snacks like the popular Pigs in Blankets and English Crumpet & Soft Boiled Egg and Venison Sausage Rolls with HP sauce.

Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar will truly bring alive the English manner – an absolute must-try destination.
