Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra to Performs in Shanghai Feb. 16 and 17

The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, one of the most celebrated ensembles in Europe, will be performing in Shanghai for special two-night recital on Feb. 16 and 17. The orchestra will be under the leadership of Conductor Myung Whun Chung and will feature lead soloist on violin Janine Jansen and 120 instrumental virtuosos. In this two-night performance, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra will be performing pieces from  Bartók, Brahms, Weber and more.

The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra was established in 1888 and since then has gained prestigious recognition, including Royal status in 1988. The Orchestra has worked with a range of maestros such as Richard Strauss, Mahler, Debussy and Stravinksy who have all Conducted the Concertgebouw Orchestra several times, and musicians like Bartók and Prokofiev who have performed their own works as soloists.
