Rio Carnival: Brazil’s Biggest Party Inspired By London
With the upcoming 2012 Olympics in London and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebration, the world-wide excitement was too much for Brazil’s Rio Carnival to ignore.
London inspired one of Rio Carnival’s most spectacular Samba parades with Britain-based themes such as Robin Hood, King Arthur, Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter and Charles Darwin. Parade creators were able to incorporate the characteristic British humor and combine it with the passion and energy of Brazil.
