New World Symphony Presents 2012 Gala: An Evening of Suspense with Alfred Hitchcock
by Cinthya Karen

New World Symphony (NWS), America’s Orchestral Academy, will host its 24thAnnual Gala on February 24, 2012. The symphonic event is known for its exquisite and carefully harmonized programming, and this year is no exception. Hollywood’s renowned director, Alfred Hitchcock, will be conducting the program.
New World Symphony’s Artistic Director and 10-time Grammy Award winner, Michael Tilson Thomas, will be Host and Master of Ceremonies of this year’s event, one which promises a “suspense-filled” musical journey through Hitchcock’s classic films.
The New World Center will be transformed for the event into a cinematic playground, evoking the golden age of Hollywood and sophisticated allure of Film Noir. In addition to the concert, over 400 guests will walk the NWS’s signature blue carpet and enjoy decadent cuisine and chic décor.
The evening’s host committee will include notable figures in Miami’s social circuit, including Louis Aguirre, Sarah Arison, Matthew Vander Werff, Matthew and Jennifer Buttrick, Chanin and Adam Carlin, Chad and Ilona Oppenheim, Anne Owen, Clara Sredni and Mitchell and Elizabeth Taylor. Micky and Madeleine Arison are this year’s Honorary Gala Chairs.
