Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Naeem Khan Show Attended By Matt Damon

Mercedes-Benz presenting designer Naeem Khan unveiled his F/W 2012 collection to a star-studded audience, including Matt and Luciana Damon and Padma Lakshmi. The collection was inspired by the intricacies of traditional Indian dress, focusing on the concept of “body art,” and translating this idea through texture, embroidery, gold and silver threading and precious jewels.

“My prints were designed by dabbing white-out on black boards and printed in Switzerland. The paisleys, Tilakas, and swirl motifs are used as inspiration for all of my metallic embroidery detail. It has taken hundreds of artisans and three months to put this together. This collection is a blend of various a ancient artistic techniques used on both bodies and textiles, coming together in a vision fit for the 21st century.”–Naeem Khan

Backstage, CND’s Angi Wingle created a pure blood-red nail on the models with CND Colour in Bloodline. This seductive manicure popped against the black, white, cream, and gold color scheme in the collection.
