Jay-Z Designing Suites in Nets’ New Arena

It should come as no shock that Brooklyn-raised Jay-Z will have a hand in development as the New Jersey Nets prepare to move to his old stomping grounds. The “Marcy-to-Madison-Square” wonder remains loyal to his roots and is working diligently alongside SHoP architects on a series of 11 luxury suites; dubbed, “The Vault” at Barclays Center–the Nets’ new home arena. The suites will cost $550K a year to own.

Not too many details have been revealed but here’s what we know: the suites will boast an endless supply of $300 bottles of Armand de Brignac Champagne. Jay-Z’s design influence will result in a décor scheme with an abundance of black and shimmering metallics.  Luxury will be tangible in all aspects–from sterling cutlery to first rate service.

On Tuesday, Sept. 27 hip hop mogul and part Nets owner Jay-Z introduced the newly-named Brooklyn Nets – to change their name from the New Jersey Nets when they move next year – and announced the details of their upcoming transition to the Barclays Center in September 2012.
