Haute Time: Swatch Predicts More Profits In 2012

The world’s largest watchmaker, Swatch said it expects growth to continue this year after a good start in January. The company, whose products range from high-end automatic watches like Breguet and Blancpain to the widely recognized plastic watches, is gaining from demand mainly among Asian consumers – along with a few other select Swiss watch makers.

Today the Swatch Group terminated their contract with Tiffany & Co. as a result of what they felt was a breach of contract. Swatch claims that Tiffany & Co. has made premeditated efforts to block and delay the development of their business.

There is no doubt about it. Swatch components are widely used, outside the brand itself. But that could change as soon as January 1st. The Swatch Group is considering cutting back their sales of the internal copoments to competitors to concentrate on making enough supplies for it's own brands
