Gorillaz Artist Jamie Hewlett Designs ABSOLUT London Bottle

Shake up some ABSOLUT vodka with Gorillaz artist Jamie Hewlett, and the results taste like creativity—or, at least looks like it.

Hewlett designed the label for the limited edition ABSOLUT London bottle. The concept of the design celebrates the creativity of iconic periods and the famous Londoners who define the past 200 years of the historic city.

ABSOLUT signed Hewlett to make the bottles, which it says are a “unique take on London’s style and fashion pioneers over the past 200 years.” The bottles feature seven characters: the Dickensian, the 18th century dandy, the punks, the mods, the 50s pinstripe, the 60s chic and the 80s casual. The characters are drawn similarly to the style of the Gorillaz cartoons. The shadowy, dark backdrop of London is meant to mirror its famously dreary weather.

“London has such a fascinating and rich history which has inspired me over the years. For ABSOLUT London I chose to re-create seven iconic characters from different eras who are largely defined by their style as well as their impactful contribution to London’s culture at the time.” said Jamie Hewlett.

The bottles will be launched exclusively March 1 in Selfridges and Harvey Nichols and are set for general release in April.
