Donald Trump has done it again – the Donald Trump Organization purchased the legendary Doral Golf and Spa Resort in Miami as a result of bankruptcy. The sale was for $150 million – $20 million less than the original price Donald Trump reportedly said he’d pay in October.
But the 20 million extra dollars that Donald Trump has in his pocket will not be left untouched. The Trump Organization has big plans to renovate this esteemed resort and, in the words of Mr. Trump himself, “return Doral to its former glory if not surpass it”. The Doral Resort was considered the best resort in the world when it first opened its doors in 1962.
The Doral Golf and Spa Resort takes over 800 acres of land in the heart of Miami. It has 700 rooms and four golf courses, including the famous Blue Monster golf course, which has hosted a PGA Tour event every year since its beginning, as well as the World Golf Championship since 2007.
Trump’s purchase may very well be his most significant investment yet.
