Aston Martin Debuts Dragon 88 at Beijing Auto Show

Just in time for the Chinese New Year, many brands such as Coach, Versace, Piaget, Swarovski, Vertu and Richard Mulle have already made it know that it’s the Year of the Dragon, so it was a matter of time before Aston Martin joined the festivities of the Chinese New Year by developing different car models. Rolls Royce, another competitor has already sold a good amount of cars to Asia, leaving Aston Martin a chance to emulate with their Dragon Edition in DBS, Virage, V8 Vantage S Models. Later on in the year, the Dragon 88 line will be revealed at the Beijing Auto Show.

Approximately, 88 cars will be manufactured, with will dragons embroidered into the interior of each car as homage to the Nine Dragon Wall at Beihai Park, including a Bang and Olufsen speaker system. Sometime in April, pricing details will be released. The special models will come in a variety of colors: volcano red, three shades of champagne gold or amethyst red which are symbolic to the Asian culture. These unique hues represent peace and protection, dragon fire, and wealth and fortune, but that’s not all the cars have special black brake calipers with 10-spoke special edition dragon alloy wheels.
