Courvoisier, the famed French cognac that helped Napoleon through those cold nights in Russia, has jumped on the newest craze train for luxury companies this year. Celebrating the Chinese New Year with limited edition products. Courvoisier has released 500 limited edition bottles of L’Essence de Courvoisier du Dragon around the world.
L’Essence de Courvoisier, which was released in 2009, blends over one hundred rare cognac reserves from the Grande Champagne and Borderies crus. Some of the blends date back from the early 1900’s while others come from the 21st century. Add the old and the new cognacs together and voila, you get a perfect harmony of flavor and texture.
This is the year of the Dragon not the year of the rat or goat, the more opulent the better. To honor the prestigious creature, L’Essence de Courvoisier du Dragon’s limited edition bottles- hand crafted by the artisans at Baccarat- engraved the front of the bottle with a gold dragon soaring through clouds. The top of the bottle has a crystal stopper inspired by Napoleon’s ten signet rings, which he awarded to his generals and soldiers for bravery in battle.
Celebrate the New Year the right way with L’Essence de Courvoisier du Dragon. I’ve heard rumors that if you drink enough of the cognac a red dragon will speak to you in French and tell you what’s essential in life, just a rumor but I’m an optimist.
