The Fairmont San Francisco hotel’s 3-bedroom presidential penthouse is the very crown jewel on top of Nob Hill and the very best of all the presidential suites. This is one of that President Wilson stayed at and one of the original namesake suites. The famous penthouse suite has had a multi-million dollar renovation since then and is 6,000 square feet of luxury spanning the entire eighth floor of the historic main building. The penthouse includes a dining room with seating for 60, a two-story circular library, a living room with grand piano, kitchen, a billiard room covered in tiles from floor to ceiling, and terrace with panoramic views of San Francisco. But it's the round the clock butler, personal trainer and massage services that put this one as over the top.

The Ritz certainly understands the value of its view and the Presidential Suite features a 1200 sq. ft outdoor balcony overlooking the Financial District. The one king bedroom suite has an optional connecting king bedded room and two and half bathrooms that come equipped with whirlpool bath, separate showers and the addictive Bulgari Au Vert bath essentials . Since this is San Francisco, they also understand how many oenophiles come through and have placed a personal wine cellar into the suite. The usual suspects of the Steinway grand piano, private dining room and incredible living room all make an appearance as well.

Even though the hotel is going through some renovations from now until May 2012, the pinnacle of luxury, the Oriental Suite (we included it even if it’s not technically named Presidential) sits high above any kind of imaginable disturbance. The private outdoor terrace spans the entire length of the suite, which in itself is a capacious 2,000 sq ft, and provides incredible breathtaking views of San Francisco all the way from the Bay bridge, past the architectural Transamerica building and up to the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. The suite is decorated with an Asian touch and welcomes its guests with delicious almond cookies.
