Miami City Ballet Presents its Second Program of the Season

Miami City Ballet started its second program of the season with the World Premiere of Viscera and London’s most successful young choreographer, 25-year-old Liam Scarlett.

The performance, which featured pieces such as In the Night, Jerome Robbins’ Valentine to Love, and Ballet Imperial, Balanchine’s masterpiece tribute to Petipa and Tchaikovsky, received a standing ovation.

Following the recital, sponsors, VIP guests and dancers gathered in the Arsht Center’s Peacock Rehearsal Studio for a champagne reception where Liam Scarlett and Edward Villella talked about the hard work put into Viscera and the inspiration that went into the creation of the piece.

Amid the opening night guests were Barbara and James Eroncig, Tina and Dan Carlo, Charlene and Ron Esserman, Ana-Marie and Robert Barlick, Beatrice and Sanford Ziff, Margaret and Mike Eidson, Frank and Gaby Armstrong and Roz Richter.
