Mele e Pere to open on Brewer Street in London

A new North Italian restaurant called Mele e Pere, owned by Peter Hughes and chef Andrea Mantovani, is now replacing Philippe Seiler’s former Va Bene restaurant on Brewer Street in London. The restaurant will sit 80 guests.

Mantovani’s experiences as a chef include working at Harry’s Bar, Arbutus and Wild Honey. Her restaurant will maintain an old-fashioned trattoria style and will feature a vermouth bar. The restaurant’s menu will stay true to the Northern Italian cuisine, with dishes like finely hand-chopped raw veal with Parmesan and sweet and sour radish and handmade crab ravioli with baby squid and botarga pasta in the lineup.

The kitchen, in addition to Chef Andrea Mantovani and Peter Hughes, will have even more expert opnions to consult this project. Among the consultants are Nigel Sutcliffe, former director of the Fat Duck and James McClean of Truffle Hunting, a business establishment of restaurant consultants.
