MEDEA Vodka launches ‘Charities to Benefit’

This weekend, Times Square Chronicles, MEDEA Vodka, and Columbus Circle Wines and Spirits launched Charities to Benefit; an innovative initiative to raise funds and awareness for charities of choice of a number of celebrities. Each bottle of MEDEA will be programmed with a special LED message and autographed by the supporting celebrity. The bottles will be auctioned off online starting February 1st. Charities to Benefit will be a year long initiative, to which new celebrities supporting different charities will be added every few weeks. Among supporters are Broadway’s brightest stars.
The launch was held at Columbus Circle Wines and Spirits and was graced by celebrities and initiative participants such as Emmy Award-winning Richard Thomas, who signed his bottle to benefit the National Meningitis Association. He uploaded a message of support for the organization on the LED band. Rent star Anthony Rapp, a longtime advocate for AIDS organizations and LGBT rights designated Friends in Deed as his charity.
The cast of Off-Broadway’s longest running show, which is now in fact on Broadway, The Fantasticks, including Edward Watts, Juliette Trafton, MacIntyre Dixon, Dan Sharkey and Matt Leisy, was there to raise awareness and funds for their charity, Bide-a-Wee.
Other bottles on display Columbus Wine and Spirits until the Feb. 14th auction, are the bottles of Bernadette Peters for Broadway Barks, Phyllis Newman for The Women’s Health Initiative, The cast of “The Phantom of the Opera” for The Broadway League and Family Night Out, Lainie Kazan for Alzheimer’s Association, and Hugh Jackman for Nomad Two Worlds Foundation. Other bottles are signed by Joan Rivers, Michelle Lee, Tommy Tune and dozens more.
