Luxury Attaché 2012: Resolutions To Solutions

For many, the start of the year means a list of pledges and projects, improvements and new intentions. Reflect on 2011 and contemplate what 2012 will bring as you outline your personal goals for the year. Here are some of the Luxury Attaché team’s resolutions, along with our plan for implementing these changes.

Resolution: Write fewer e-mails and more handwritten notes
Solution: Stock up on beautiful and unique cards from Dempsey & Carroll, a fine purveyor of engraved social stationery. Start by thanking those who made this holiday season special with a MerciGracias or Grazie note card.

Resolution: Get creative juices flowing
Solution: Attend Kristin Hanson’s Fine Jewelry School, a fully equipped green studio located in TriBeCa. The package includes two, six-hour classes, which teach the basic elements of jewelry design and metalsmithing while stimulating and cultivating inherent creativity. The best part? The takeaway: luxurious wearable art!

Resolution: Improve fitness
Solution: Hit the “waves” at SurfSET Fitness, an indoor surfing studio that recently opened at Chelsea Piers. Attendees tone up and shed pounds as they ride the RipSurferX, a treadmill-surfboard hybrid that simulates waves and offers a full-body workout. SurfSET classes train muscular strength, endurance and explosive power, while increasing balance, agility and aerobic conditioning. Drop-in classes are offered seven days-a-week, but for a more intense regimen, try the eight-week “surf camp.”

Resolution: Stylize your suit

Solution: Have a truly tailored experience at Windsor Custom, a by-appointment-only men’s custom clothing living room, located below Chelsea sports bar The Ainsworth. The one-hour, private sessions take place in an elegant lounge and feature complimentary food and beverage from a private bar, along with access to an HD-TV and pool table for entertainment. Looking to impress friends? Group fittings are also available.

Resolution: Crank it up in the kitchen
Solution: Work with the team at My Cooking Party, which transforms culinary classes into cooking and tasting parties, to host your friends for a night to be remembered. The three-hour class, held in one of four culinary event spaces, begins hors d’oeuvres and wine followed by an instructional group cooking lesson. You and your guests will then sit down to a three-course meal – created by you, but presented and served by the My Cooking Party team.

Resolution: Live a life well styled
Solution: Have the above and all of your lifestyle, leisure and travel needs planned, procured and taken care of by a Luxury Attaché Lifestyle Manager.
