Lucian Freud Portraits at The National Portrait Gallery

An exhibition featuring over 100 of Lucian Freud’s works—including some that have never been seen before—will open at the National Portrait Gallery on Feb. 9. Freud was one of the most influential artists of his generation and now art-lovers have an opportunity to see pieces from museums and private collections throughout the world.

Freud created drama in his pictures by painting people, which is the central theme of the exhibition. Produced in close collaboration with the late Freud, the display will feature portraits of groups of sitters, including the artist’s family, friends and lovers. The exhibition is a chance to experience the work of an extremely influential artist, as well as exclusive pieces by Freud.
